Meet Shaun

Shaun Bailey is a husband, father of three, Army veteran, and farmer running for Union County Commissioner. Born and raised in Union County, Shaun comes from a family that has lived and farmed here for more than 100 years. Growing up on the family dairy farm, he learned the value of hard work, responsibility, and keeping your word—lessons that shaped his lifelong commitment to service, leadership, and community.
After graduating from The Ohio State University, Shaun went on to serve 22 years in the United States Army, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel. His service included multiple combat deployments, where he led teams, managed complex operations, and was entrusted with serious responsibility. His military service instilled in him the importance of discipline, preparation, accountability, and making sound decisions under pressure—principles he continues to live by in his family life and work.
Today, Shaun and his wife are raising their three boys in Union County, where he continues to farm and serve. He is a long-time member of Living Hope Church, where faith and community involvement continue to shape his commitment to service and personal responsibility. He has also served more than nine years on the Union County Airport Board, gaining firsthand experience with public infrastructure, budgeting, and responsible oversight.
Shaun is running for Union County Commissioner because he cares deeply about where the county is headed. He believes county government should be honest, transparent, and careful with tax dollars, while supporting public safety, protecting rural communities, and planning responsibly for growth. His goal is to bring practical leadership, steady judgment, and clear communication to county government—and to help ensure Union County remains one of greatest places to live, work, farm, and raise a family for generations to come.
