North Union School Board Meeting Last Night

Had the privilege of attending the North Union School Board meeting last night. Really valuable evening on several fronts.

The board reviewed an important youth health study — the kind of data that should inform decisions at every level of local government, including the commissioner’s office. Understanding the health and wellbeing of our young people matters.

It was also a great night to celebrate outstanding community members who were recognized for their contributions to North Union schools. Union County is full of remarkable people doing remarkable things quietly and without fanfare — tonight was a reminder of that.

Most importantly, I had the chance to speak with board members and hear directly about their concerns and priorities. That’s exactly why I attend these meetings — not to talk, but to listen. If I’m going to serve Union County well, I need to understand what’s happening in every corner of it.
